Women’s Soccer Germino-Watnick Named Third Team All-American

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's soccer standout Paula Germino-Watnick was named a United Soccer Coaches All-American on Thursday evening, earning a spot on the third team. Earlier this week, she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team.

The Chevy Chase, Maryland native is a biology of global health major and holds a 3.82 GPA. She was unanimously selected as the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year and a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection. The senior was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List earlier this year. She ranked second on the team with 26 points off of nine goals and eight assists.

This is the 16th time in program history that Georgetown has had an All-American selection and Germino-Watnick is the 10th Hoya to be named an All-American. She is one of two BIG EAST players that made the list, joined by third team selection Samantha Dewey from Xavier.

The Hoyas finished the 2019 season 13-5-3 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth-straight year.
