WASHINGTON - When Georgetown played at Syracuse on Wednesday night as part of rivalry week on ESPN, the Hoyas were one of only two schools in the country to wear special sneakers designed by Brand Jordan.
Wearing the team's black uniforms for the first time this season, Georgetown players were also wearing the "Wolf Gray" Air Jordan 2012s. The sneakers were highlighted by neon green shoelaces.
Georgetown was one of only two schools in the country to wear those shoes (North Carolina was the other).
The Hoyas, 18-5 overall and 8-4 in the BIG EAST, host long-time league rival St. John's on Sunday, Feb. 12 at Verizon Center. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. The game will be shown live on ESPN and can be heard locally on ESPN 980 AM.
