WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (15-23, 0-6 BIG EAST) continues its BIG EAST schedule on the road against Pitt (20-17) on Wednesday, April 11 for a doubleheader slated to begin at 3 p.m.
This is the third BIG EAST series for the Hoyas. Georgetown has been swept in two three-game series against Rutgers (16-20, 5-6 BIG EAST) and DePaul (21-12, 5-1 BIG EAST). Last weekend against DePaul, Georgetown dropped a double header 4-0, 4-0 on Friday. The Hoyas played the Blue Demons to a 1-1 tie on Saturday through the fourth inning, before two fielding errors brought in six DePaul runs in the fifth. Alexandria Anttila
(Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) and Mackensey Carter
(Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) both went two-for-two in the loss to DePaul on Saturday. Elyse Graziano
(Floral Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) leads all Georgetown batters in BIG EAST play with a .429 batting average (6-for-14). Shikara Lowe
(Beaverton, Ore./Jesuit) has recorded 20 RBI with a .324 batting average and a .462 on base percentage through 38 games. Megan Hyson
(Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) currently posts a 2.71 ERA with 79 strikeouts in eleven starts and 73 innings to lead Georgetown pitching. Lauren O'Leary
(La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and Carter have recorded ERA's of 3.10 and 3.82 respectively to round out Hoya pitchers.
The Hoyas will follow up the BIG EAST doubleheader at Pitt with a three-game series at St. John's (14-25, 2-6 BIG EAST) April 14-15.
