Georgetown in Seventh Place After First Day of Rutgers Invitational

Sophomore Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) is tied for eighth place individually and the Georgetown University women's golf team is in seventh place among 20 teams after the first day of play at the Rutgers Women's Invitational, being played on the par-72, 6,034-yard Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscatway, N.J.

Defending tournament champion Seton Hall and Delaware are tied for the team at 14-over par 302, while Bucknell is in third place at 21-over par 309. St. John's and Fairleigh Dickinson are tied for fourth place at 23-over par 311, with Long Island sixth at 26-over par 314. The Hoyas are in seventh place at 27-over par 315.

Individually, Seton Hall's Erin McClure and Bucknell's Bridget Wilcox are knotted atop the leaderboard with scores of 1-over par 73, respectively.

Boydston leads the Hoyas, carding a 4-over par 76 in the first round.

Freshman Kelly Hwang (Moorestown, N.J./IMG Academy) is tied for 20th place at 6-over par 78, while classmate Jenny Xiao (Foshan, China/Foshan No. 3 Middle School) is one shot back, tied for 27th place at 7-over par 79.

Sophomore Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) is tied for 58th place at 10-over par 82 and sophomore Liz DiVincentis (Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional) shot a 12-over par 84 and is tied for 70th place.

The second, and final, round of the invitational tees off Tuesday morning, with tee times ranging from 8 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.
