WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's lacrosse standout Caroline Tarzian (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) was named to the Tewaaraton Trophy nominee list as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Friday, April 26. Tarzian and the Georgetown women's lacrosse program finished the regular season with a 12-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in BIG EAST play.
Tarzian has been the Hoyas' offensive leader all season long. She is Georgetown's leading goal scorer with 33 and leads the squad in points with 46. Tarzian ranks seventh in the BIG EAST for goals per game with 2.06. She also is second on the team in assists with 13.
This season Tarzian has 10 games of two or more goals and scored five goals in three games. She recorded at least one point in every game and is a three time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recipient.
As a freshman Tarzian earned a spot on the U.S. National Team and was a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection. She scored 34 goals and totaled 43 points.
The Hoyas next play on Thursday, May 2, in the semifinals of the 2013 BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Championship hosted by Georgetown on Multi-Sport Field. GU, the second seed, will face third seeded Loyola (Md.) at 8 p.m. with top seed Syracuse facing fourth seed UConn in the first semifinal at 5:30 p.m. The finals will be played on Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m.
