WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Football Coach Rob Sgarlata has announced two camp dates for the summer of 2014 with the first being held on Multi-Sport Field on Saturday, June 7. The camp is for boys entering grades 7-12 in the Fall of 2014.
A second date, Saturday, July 19 is also now available for public registration. Interested parties can register at: http://abcsportscamps.com/georgetownfb. Both camp dates will be held at Multi-Sport Field on campus of Georgetown University.
The Georgetown University Football Camp offers an opportunity for players to receive instruction on the fundamental skills of football from Division I college coaches. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful football players. The camp is ideal for players looking to improve their skill level in every facet of the game.
Rob Sgarlata begins his first season as the Georgetown University football Head Coach, after spending over 20 seasons on the Hilltop, including the last eight as the Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator. Sgarlata helped guide the Hoyas to its best stretch since joining the Patriot League, between 2010 and 2012, as GU possessed the top-ranked scoring defense in the Patriot League in 2011 and featured the second-ranked scoring defense in the league in 2012. During his tenure, Sgarlata has coached four All-Americans, 20 All-Patriot League selections and four All-ECAC selections.
Defensive coordinator Luke Thompson, offensive coordinator Michael Neuberger and the rest of GU's position coaches will be on hand to work with campers on both dates.
