Ed McCrossen Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

July 24, 2014

WASHINGTON - Ed McCrossen, a 2014 senior on the Georgetown University men's golf team, has been named a 2014 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The GCAA named a total of 207 Division I honorees on Thursday morning.

"Eddie certainly deserves this national honor," Georgetown Head Coach Tommy Hunter said. "He was an outstanding leader both on the golf course and in the classroom."

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds and have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, while maintaining a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

McCrossen earns All-America Scholar honors during an offseason that has also seen him named All-BIG EAST in addition to earning the men's golf program's Hoya Award for "outstanding leadership and commitment to the program."

McCrossen graduated from the McDonough School of Business in May and is working in U.S. Generalist Sales at Barclays in New York City.
