Men's Golf Tied for Fourth After First Round at Navy Fall Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Georgetown University men's golf team is tied for fourth place with Towson after shooting a 290 in the first round of the Navy Fall Classic at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.

Two Hoya freshmen placed among the top 10 at the challenging par-71 course on Saturday, as Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) is currently tied for fourth overall after carding a first round 69. Sam Madsen is tied for eighth after shooting an even par 71.

Senior captain Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) is tied for 17th, shooting a two-over par 73 with one round left to play, to help GU in a tie with defending Navy Fall Classic champion Towson in the 10-team field.

Sophomore Austin Rendell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) is in 42nd place after shooting a six-over par 77, while freshman Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) is tied for 49th place at 10-over par 81.

Play at the Navy Fall Classic will conclude on Sunday following the second round at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course.
