WASHINGTON - The 2015 Georgetown indoor track & field season has seen impressive performances week in and week out and Saturday afternoon proved no different. All-Americans Sabrina Southerland (New York, N.Y./Benjamin N. Cardozo) and Ryan Manahan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus), both competing in just their second indoor season on the Hilltop, set school records in the women's and men's 800-meter runs, respectively. The duo highlighted an impressive day of performances at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track as the Hoyas competed at the one-day Penn State Tune-Up.

Southerland led a quintet of Hoyas through the finish as she set a new school record in the women's 800-meter run, clocking 2:03.89, six-hundredths of a second faster than the previous record set by Miesha Marzell in 1997. Marzell's record held on for nearly 18 years, falling just one day short of the 18th anniversary set on February 22 at George Mason University.

Southerland was followed by Becca DeLoache (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) in second with a PR of 2:04.86, Piper Donaghu (Portland, Ore./Grant) in third (2:05.25), Heather Martin (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) in fourth (2:07.87) and Jocelyn Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield/Northeastern) rounding out the top five (2:07.93). Southerland, DeLoache and Donaghu own the fourth-, eighth- and 12th-fastest times in the country currently.

Just one week after joining an elite group of runners on the Hilltop to run a sub-four mile, Manahan set a school record in the 800-meter run, recording a time of 1:47.34, to lead a slew of GU runners in the race. Manahan bests the previous record just as Southerland did - by six-hundredths of a second - edging out the previous record of 1:47.40 set by Rich Kenah in 1992.

Manahan led in Joe White (Clifton, N.J./DePaul Catholic), a freshman on the Hilltop, who timed in at 1:48.05 and All-American Billy Ledder (Washington, D.C./Gonzaga) for the top three. The trio ranks among the top 15 in the country with Manahan's time coming in at sixth while White and Ledder are 14th and 15th, respectively.

All-American Samantha Nadel (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore) managed the seventh-best time in school history, 4:39.78, in the women's indoor mile to win the event.

Showing true depth in the event, the Georgetown men put a group of runners in the mile who had not previously competed in the event this season with Darren Fahy (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) leading the way with a time of 4:09.45, leading a trio of runners among the top five.

Georgetown returns to action on Friday and Saturday, February 27-28, opening the postseason portion of the schedule with the BIG EAST Championships, held at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York City.
