WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's golf team spent its spring break traveling from Las Vegas to Utah, competing in the Lady Thunderbird Invitational at Southern Utah University this weekend. The team has captured their trip during a daily blog, with the final thoughts from tournament play coming from junior Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic).
"Today was the second and final round of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational. The team shot a combined total score of 318 with a score of 79 from both freshmen, Lauren Gros and Jacquelyn Eleey, and 80s from juniors Patricia Lee and myself. We finished in fourth place out of 14 teams; overall it was a great experience and we have positive momentum as we play in our hosted Hoya Invitational event on March 29 and 30.
"Sunbrook Golf Course was a beautiful course with mountain views on every hole, but because of the elevation it was a difficult one to walk as well. After a tiring, yet fun, few days of golf we fueled up at Pizza Hut for dinner (with coupons from the tournament) and finished the day at Yogurtland for dessert.
"Tomorrow we will be hiking at Zion National Park which, fortunately, is only 45 miles east from our hotel in Saint George. Keep an eye out for more blog posts to come detailing our scenic hikes at Zion!"
