Georgetown Athletics Announces 2015 Men's Soccer Promotional Schedule

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University Department of Athletics announced the 2015 men’s soccer promotional schedule on Tuesday. The No. 12 Hoyas will open the home season on Friday at Shaw Field, taking on the University of Akron at 4 p.m.

Tickets will be sold for the Akron (9/4), UCLA (9/7), Radford (9/12), Maryland (9/23), Providence (9/26), and Butler (10/10) home games, and for the remaining home games, admission is free! To purchase tickets in advance, please visit or call the Hoya Ticket Office at 202.687.4692.

To open the season on Friday, the first 300 students admitted into the game will receive a free t-shirt and have the opportunity to sit in the student section behind the goal.

On Labor Day (Monday, September 7), the Hoyas will face the No. 1 UCLA Bruins at 1 p.m., at Shaw Field. The team will hold its ‘Dad Bod Day’ promotion where all dads will get into the game for free!

Any dad that shows their flip phone at the marketing table will receive a free t-shirt and there will be a 15-minute pre-game calisthenics class hosted by a Hoya sports performance coach. Dads can also show off their comedic side by submitting a joke at the marketing table, and the dad with the best joke will receive a Hoya Athletics prize pack. During halftime, dads are invited to participate in a halftime dance contest. If interested, please see the athletics representative at the marketing table prior to the start of the game to sign up.

On Saturday, September 12 the team will face Radford at 1 p.m. and will hold a post-game autograph session for all fans in attendance. Members of the Hoya Kids Club can receive free pizza before the game as well. To join the Hoya Kids Club, visit:

Following a two-game road stretch, the Hoyas return to Shaw Field for a home game on Wednesday, September 23 at 4 p.m. facing local-rival, the University of Maryland Terrapins. All fans are encouraged to show their Hoya pride at this game by wearing Georgetown’s school colors of blue and gray.

In the BIG EAST Conference opener on Saturday, September 26 at 1 p.m., the team will face the Providence Friars. It will be “Celebrate the 90’s Day” at Shaw with music from the decade, and snap bracelets to the first 200 fans in attendance. It is also Scout Day as all Boy and Girl Scouts who wear their uniforms to the game will get in for free. All scouts will also receive a commemorative Georgetown scout patch.

The Hoyas return to Shaw Field during homecoming weekend on Saturday, October 10 at noon to take on the Butler Bulldogs. Any DMV youth soccer player that attends the game wearing their youth soccer jersey will gain free admission into the game. They will also be allowed to participate in pre-game activities by standing on the field with the team during the National Anthem.

Following Butler, the men’s soccer team will also be hosting a post-game skills clinic that is open to all kids in the 8th grade and younger. To register for the skills clinic, please email

The 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 14 game against the Marquette Golden Eagles, will be Breast Cancer Awareness Day. All attendees are encouraged to wear pink and Hoya blue to honor all who have been affected by breast cancer. There will be giveaways, as well as halftime recognition of survivors, families, and honoring those in memoriam.

On Wednesday, October 28 at 2 p.m., the team will host the Seton Hall Pirates and the team will host a canned food drive for the upcoming holiday season.

On Thursday, November 5 at 2 p.m. the Hoyas will play their final regular season game against the Creighton Bluejays and will be honoring all seniors on the men’s soccer team with an on-field recognition of student-athletes and their families.

Single-game ticket prices for the Akron, UCLA, Radford, Maryland, Providence, and Butler home games are $10 for adults (18+) and $5 for children (3-17). Group tickets are $5 per person.
