WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad announced its 2015 fall schedule on Monday. The Hoyas will play on four dates with three all-day events. The Blue & Gray will face three 2015 NCAA Tournament squads as well as the reigning national champions.
The Hoyas will open the fall hosting the U.S. Naval Academy this Friday at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, the Blue & Gray will host its annual banquet at the Georgetown Conference Center. Alums, parents or fans looking to buy tickets to the banquet should contact Georgetown Assistant Coach Meg Dentler.
Next weekend, there will be an Alumni Game on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Multi-Sport Field at 1 p.m.
The first full day on games is slated for Oct. 17 at George Mason University. The Hoyas will face the University of Richmond (10 a.m.), Virginia Tech (noon), Coastal Carolina University (2 p.m.) and The College of William & Mary (4 p.m.) in the all-day affair.
On Oct. 18, Georgetown will participate in a tournament at the University of Maryland. The Hoyas will begin the day with Elon University at 11 a.m. This will be followed by a noon matchup against the reigning national champion Terps and a meeting with 2015 NCAA qualifier Stanford University at 2 p.m.
The following weekend, the Blue & Gray will host its own tournament at Georgetown Visitation to close out the fall on Oct. 31. GU will host James Madison University at 9 a.m., the Dukes were NCAA Tournament qualifiers a season ago. This will be followed by matchups against Rutgers University (noon), George Washington University (2:30 p.m.) and the University of Oregon (3 p.m.).
The Hoyas finished the 2015 season with a mark of 7-10 overall and were the BIG EAST Conference Regular Season Champions. The squad graduated nine seniors, but will return four of its top five scorers in 2016.
