WASHINGTON - The 2017 Georgetown University Residential Soccer Camp opened registration for both the Blue and the Gray session this past week. Camp is split into the Blue Session, running July 8-11, and the Gray Session which will be held July 12-15.
Overnight campers will be housed on campus and the training sessions will take place at Cooper Field in the heart of Georgetown University. The camp is designed for boys entering grades 10, 11 and 12.
This camp is designed to attract top-level Club, Academy, ODP and high school players interested in playing college soccer. It will feature highly-qualified college coaches who will provide their insight and expertise on the game. The coaches will provide exceptional training to help prepare campers for college soccer at any level. This summer's camp will include college coaches from a number of well-known institutions from all over the country.
The camp will be capped at just over 100 players to ensure personalized attention. Every player will be exposed to tactical training in an 11v11 format each day. They will be immersed in the attacking and defending concepts and showcase matches will be held each night under the lights.
Each player will also take part in technical sessions. At this time, coaches will focus on the technical development of each player and how they can best prepare for the college game. During this period, specific goalkeeper training will be conducted.
