WASHINGTON Ã¢â'¬" The Georgetown University women's golf team traveled West over the weekend, where the team started its 10-day Spring Break trip, with stops in California and Texas on the schedule.
Head Coach Katie Brophy and her team will play in the Fresno State Classic on Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8.
The 15-team field is comprised of host Fresno State, Boise State, CSU Fullerton, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgetown, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico State, Portland State, Rutgers, Sacramento State, Santa Clara and Seattle University. Fresno State will also field four individuals, while Georgetown, Nevada, Portland State, Rutgers and Santa Clara will also field one individual, respectively.
The par-72 San Joaquin Country Club Ã¢â'¬" located on the west side of Fresno, Calif. Ã¢â'¬" will play at 6,217 yards from the Red Tees.
After the tournament, the team will travel to Palo Alto, Calif. and Stanford University, where the Hoyas will have the chance to play at the school course, the site of the 2016 NCAA Regionals. A tour of San Francisco is planned for Thursday, March 10, with stops to the Fisherman's Wharf, a drive down Lombard Street and a visit to Ghirardelli Chocolate Company.
The team departs for Texas on Friday, March 11, the home state of senior co-captain Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic). The Hoyas will play in a tournament at Oral Roberts University on Monday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 15 before returning to D.C.
