Georgetown Sailing Wins Arrigan Memorial Regatta, Finishes Second at MAISA Women's Championship

April 28, 2016

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University sailing team competed in three events last weekend, winning the Arrigan Memorial Regatta and finishing second in both the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Women's Conference Championships and the Admiral's Cup. The second-place showing at the MAISA Women's Championships earned the Hoyas a berth to the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) women's national championships in May.

MAISA Women's Conference Championships (Geneva, N.Y.)
The Georgetown University women's sailing team earned a berth at the ICSA women's national championships in May by virtue of its second-place finish at the MAISA Conference Championships. The regatta was sailed over two days with 11 races per division. The Hoyas sailed well throughout the event but weren't able to string together enough top finishes to catch crosstown rival George Washington. Going into Sunday the Hoyas were six points down but only one race was sailed in each division, not enough for the Blue & Gray to catch first place.
