Jan. 23, 2017

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball sophomore guard Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping the Hoyas (12-7, 4-5 BIG EAST) to a 2-0 week in conference play.

White helped the Hoyas to a 2-0 mark in a 69-64 road win at Xavier and a 58-52 victory at Butler last week. She totaled 12 points, eight rebounds and five steals in an overtime win over the Musketeers before scoring a career-high 29 points off 11-of-18 shooting in Sunday's victory over Butler. She added eight boards and five steals against the Bulldogs.

The sophomore leads the team in scoring with 15.9 ppg which ranks her tied for third in the conference. She also has 5.2 rpg and is ranked second on the squad in assists with 53 on the season. White has 66 steals on the year to lead the BIG EAST and rank eighth in the nation. Her 3.7 steals per game leads the league and is seventh in the country. The sophomore is also shooting .815 (44-of-54) from the line to sit at fourth in the league

This is White's third-career nod to the honor roll, and her first this season. In her career, she has earned six total weekly honors. The guard was a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection this season, and Second Team All-BIG EAST a season ago. It is Georgetown's fourth weekly recognition and third nod to the honor roll this year.
