WASHINGTON - The 2017 Georgetown University Winter ID Camp opened registration this week. Camp will be held on Georgetown's campus December 16-17, 2017.
The goal at the Georgetown Soccer Winter ID Camp is to provide a fun and competitive environment for each player to develop their technical skills and to apply those skills to game situations. Campers are exposed to small and full-sided games each day.
The hope is that each camper will leave camp having learned new skills and how to apply those skills in exciting and challenging game situations. The Georgetown Soccer Winter ID Camp will provide excellent facilities and a highly capable and enthusiastic staff. Competing against highly-talented players from around the country will provide the campers an ideal environment to showcase their talents.
This camp is designed to attract top-level Academy, Club, ODP, and high school players interested in playing Division I soccer. It will feature the Georgetown soccer coaching staff who have experience in every level of college soccer and will provide exceptional training to help prepare our campers for college soccer.
There is limited space on the Winter ID Camp to ensure personalized attention to each camper. Every player will be exposed to tactical & technical training, small-sided (7v7, 8v8) and 11v11 games. During every session they will be immersed in the attacking and defending concepts used in the Georgetown system.
There will also be goalkeeper-specific sessions during the tactical and technical sessions for field players.
The campers will experience a "day-in-the-life" of a student-athlete at Georgetown, utilizing the same facilities the Hoyas use during the school year, including the state-of-the-art Cooper Field. Campers will also visit the team locker room, have a camp meeting in the brand new team rooms in the Thompson Athletic Center and eat in the university cafeteria, Leo J. O'Donnell Dining Hall.
Interested campers can register by mail, by downloading the application or online through www.GUHoyas.com. For more information, please visit the Georgetown athletic website. All payments will include a $50 nonrefundable processing fee.
