WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball junior guard Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping the Hoyas (17-9, 9-7 BIG EAST) to a 2-0 week in conference play. It is the fifth-consecutive week that a Hoya has been on the honor roll, and Aodmako's second-consecutive honor.
Adomako averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 50-percent shooting as Georgetown topped Butler and Xavier to clinch a BIG EAST Tournament First Round bye. In the 83-72 Butler win, the junior scored a game-high 21 points and added five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. In the 81-63 Xavier victory, Adomako was second on the squad in scoring with 17 points as well as three rebounds, an assist and a steal. For the weekend, she was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line.
The guard is second on the team and fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring averaging 15.0 ppg. She ranks second in rebounds with 6.5 rpg which sits her at seventh in the league. Adomako is also second on the squad with 30 blocks which puts her at ninth in the league.
This is Adomako's seventh-career nod to the honor roll, and her second this season. In her career, she has earned 13 total weekly honors. The guard was a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST selection this season, and Second Team All-BIG EAST a season ago. It is Georgetown's eighth weekly recognition and seventh nod to the honor roll this year.
