WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's rowing was named the Corvias Patriot League Varsity Eight Boat of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. The Hoyas garner the inaugural weekly honor while the varsity four squad was tabbed honorable mention for its efforts against West Virginia to open spring competition.
The openweight 8+ boat defeated West Virginia by 16.7 seconds while the 4+ squad topped a pair of Mountaineer boats by 2.33 and 12.88 seconds. In all, the Hoyas won three of the four races of the day against WVU.
