WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University field hockey team was one of 76 programs in the nation to earn the 2016 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award, which was announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Wednesday.
The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year. This is the 10th-straight year the Blue & Gray has been recognized by the NFCHA.
The Hoyas are in the midst of spring practice and will open the 2017 season in August. The squad returns 13 players and will welcome seven freshmen in the fall.
