WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team was defeated by Seton Hall, 4-1, on Friday in quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Conference Championship by a score of 4-1.
The Pirates got off to a quick start by sweeping the completed doubles matches at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the point. The match at No. 1 with Risa Nakagawa (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes Peninsula) and Sydney Goodson (Great Falls, Va./Langley High School) went unfinished.
Seton Hall continued its strong play by winning three of four completed singles matches to clinch the match. Nakagawa picked up the lone win in singles play by a score of 6-1, 7-5 at the No. 3 position.
Georgetown will face Villanova in the back draw on Saturday at 4 p.m.
