WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University football program had 27 student-athletes named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll when the league office announced the list on Friday. Overall, the Patriot League had a record 233 student-athletes from its seven football institutions earn academic honors.

To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports. Four Hoyas earned their fourth-consecutive appointment to the academic honor roll, including seniors Jim McLaughlin (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) and Jelani Williamson (Silver Spring, Md./Good Counsel) who were both named to the 14-member Academic All-Patriot League Team for the second-consecutive year in November. Fellow classmates David Akere (Carrollton, Texas/Hebron) and Dominic Scarangella (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) also made the list for the fourth time in their careers.

Additionally, two Hoyas earned their third nod to the academic honor roll, while six made the cut for the second time in their career and 15 student-athletes were first-time selections. Overall, Georgetown had 10 seniors, six juniors, five sophomores and six freshmen make the list.
