MacDonald Takes Bronze as Canada Sweeps Podium at Pan American Cross Country Championships

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University freshman cross country standout Martha MacDonald (Toronto, Ont./Havergal College) took home bronze at the Pan American Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The GU freshman, competing for Canada, was part of a Canadian podium sweep in the 6-kilometer U-20 race in San Salvador, El Salvador.

MacDonald recorded a time of 21:02.0 over the 6-kilometer course to finish behind teammates Brogan MacDougall (20:36.0) and Laura Dickinson (20:54.0).

MacDonald closed her first season of collegiate cross country as she qualified for the 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships, where she finished 168th overall. She clocked 21:14.2 over the 6-kilometer course and was the 16th finisher among those in their freshman year of eligibility.
