Georgetown University senior libero Kenzie Higareda
(Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Higareda broke the program record for career digs as the Hoyas went 2-2 at the Georgetown Classic over the weekend.
Posting a pair of matches with at least 20 digs, Higareda hauled in a match-high 25 against UNC Wilmington in a five-set loss to set the mark. She now has 1,632 career digs and remains on pace to be the only Hoya to have 2,000 digs in her career.
Higareda opened the weekend with six digs, four assists and a pair of service aces in a 3-0 victory against Norfolk State on Friday before posting 21 digs, three assists and three service aces in a five-set loss to Penn in the nightcap.
On Saturday, she added another nine digs with four assists and four service aces in a 3-1 win over George Mason before wrapping up the weekend with her record-setting 25-dig match against UNCW. Higareda also tallied four assists against the Seahawks.
