WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball battled through to the finish this afternoon in Jacksonville, Florida as it fell to the University of North Florida 3-1. The 0-3 Hoyas played only three of their five scheduled games this weekend due to weather conditions in the area canceling Saturday's games.
How It Happened
- Georgetown and the Ospreys went through the first six innings scoreless with the Hoyas only tallying four hits and the Ospreys tallied one.
- The game heated up in the seventh when Kacy Lyman found herself advancing to second off a ground out to short by Sophia Scarangella.
- Brittany Lew was next up at the plate and knocked a ball to right center field for a double bringing Lyman home for the first run of the game (1-0).
- UNF had one out when Kayla Harper singled to put a runner on first and second.
- Logan Jackson was up to bat after Harper and homered for 3 RBIs for the Osprey win (3-1).
