Bronx, N.Y. ? The Georgetown University men?s cross country team earned a fourth-place finish at the 2002 IC4A Cross Country Championship, held Saturday, November 23, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y. Cornell won the meet crown with 81 points, followed by William & Mary in second with 109 points and Yale one point back in fourth with 110. The Hoyas tallied 147 points to secure the fourth spot with the Hoyas resting their top runners in preparation for the NCAAs on Monday.
Senior Ethan Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) was Georgetown?s top finisher in the meet. Kearns covered the 8K course in 25:31.8, 26 seconds behind Syracuse?s John Bitok?s winning time of 25:05.8. GU?s next runner across the finish line was junior Felix Chrobog (Washington, D.C./St. Albans) who earned 32 place with a time of 26:08.1. Senior George O?Loughlin (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) and sophomore Charlie Millioen (Blue Point, N.Y./St. Anthony?s) ran 39 and 40 with times of 26:12.0 and 26:13.1, respectively.
