The Georgetown University Track Team competed in the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships at Boston University on March 8-9, 2003. The Hoya men claimed an impressive third place finish in the field of forty-eight, while the women finished the competition in seventeenth.
The men were led by strong performances in the relay events, registering a fourth and fifth place finish, respectively. In the 4x800m Relay Final, the Hoya quartet of Tommy Manning (So., Lake Oswego, Ore. / Jesuit), Courtney Jaworski (Fr., University Place, Wash. / Curtis), John Connolly (Fr., Portland, Ore. / Jesuit) and George O?Loughlin (Sr., Danbury, Conn. / Danbury) finished fourth with a time of 7:32.48. The team shaved four seconds off their Preliminary time, where Connolly and Jaworski combined with Stanley Lagrenade (Fr., Nyack, N.Y. / Nyack) and Mike Williams (Sr., Washington, D.C. / Dematha) to finish fifth. The men followed the same patter in the Distance Medley Relay, finishing fifth in the Preliminary race and fourth in the Final. In the Prelims, Hoyas Dan Tebbano (Sr., Clifton Park, N.Y./ Shenendehowa), Andrew Nolen (Jr., Ware, Mass. / Deerfield), Nat Glackin (So., Red Bank, N.J. / Christian Brothers Academy) and Javon Broderick (Sr., Seattle, Wash. / O?Dea) finished fifth with a time of 9:56.59. In the finals, Williams and Chris Lukezic (Fr., Auburn, Wash. / Auburn) joined Tebbano and Nolen to post a time of 9:53.45, good enough for fourth place.
The women finished in seventeenth place overall. Notable performances included
Jodee Adams Moore?s (So., Bellevue, Wash. / Newport) eighth place finish in the 3000m Run, and
Colleen Kelly?s (Jr., Maple Glen, Pa. / Mt. St. Joseph?s) tenth place performance in the same race.
