Philadelphia, Pa. - Georgetown University?s women?s distance medley relay team turned in a seventh-place performance at the 109th Annual Penn Relays Carnival on Thursday evening, April 24, at Franklin Field. Juniors Treniere Clement (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Monroe Falls), Monica Hargrove (New Haven, Conn./James Hillhouse) and Maura McCusker (Stoneham, Mass./Stoneham) joined senior Erin Sicher (College Park, Md./Good Counsel) to run 11:26.40 to claim the seventh spot.
North Carolina won the DMR for the second year in a row. The Tar Heels cruised to victory with a time of 10:56.67, easily besting runner-up Arkansas? 11:10.78. Villanova took third place with a mark of 11:12.04, while Tennessee was fourth in 11:13.38. Florida State was fifth (11:20.41) and Wisconsin sixth (11:24.61).
Junior Colleen Kelly (Maple Glen, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph?s Academy) earned a tenth-place finish in the college women?s 5000-meter run. Kelly crossed the finish line in 16:42.22. Yale?s Kate O?Neill won the 5000 in 15:51.86, followed by Providence?s Mary Cullen with a time of 16:09.49. Junior Diana Clock (San Francisco, Calif./San Francisco University H.S.) was 28th (17.06.91) in the race, while sophomore Jodee Adams-Moore (Bellvue, Wash./Newport) finished in 31st place (17:13.49).
