WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Director of the Georgetown University men's and women's track & field program Ron Helmer announced12 new female student athletes for the 2005-2006 season. The new members include 11 incoming freshmen as well as one transfer. They will join a team that finished third at the 2005 BIG EAST Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships and 10th at the 2005 BIG EAST Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
"Our incoming class is not only a very talented group of athletes, but very diverse in ability as well," said Helmer. "We now have strong male and female athletes in a wide range of events which should help us win more points in the team competitions as well as see a variety of top performers emerge."
