WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University track and field program had several student-athletes competing at the Penn State National Invitational at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pa.
Sophomore Chris Kinney (Stockbridge, Ga./Stockbridge) finished in fourth place in the semifinals of the 60-meter hurdles in 7.95, advancing to the finals. In the finals, Kinney placed fifth in 8.08.
On the women's side, the women's distance medley relay team of senior Avril Ogrodnick (Beaconsfield, Quebec/Beaconsfield), sophomore Kyla Cook (Concord, Mass./Concord Carlisle), senor Christine Whalen (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) and freshman Katie McCafferty (Convent Station, N.J./Oak Knoll) finished in third place in 11:30.79.
Senior Buky Bamigboye (Brentwood, Tenn./University School) finished 17th in the long jump in 17-8.
Freshman London Finley (Los Angeles, Calif./St. Mary's Academy) finished in 21st place in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries in 8.89.
Competition continues on Saturday.
