WASHINGTON - After a stellar cross country season, junior Emily Infeld (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont) was recently featured in an article on RunnersWorld.com

This past season, Infeld had a string of strong finishes, winning a race and finishing third or better in three races, and was named an All-American for the sixth time in her collegiate career. Most recently, Infeld capped off the 2010 cross country season with a second-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Championship. She came in with a time of 20:09.2, only 2.3 seconds behind the winner. Before that race, she came in the second place at the 2010 NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Championship with a time of 19:50. Previously, she scored a third-place finish at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 20:42.7. She won the Paul Short Invitational on October 1 against 365 other runners with a time of 20:04. The performance earned her a nomination as the 2010 Honda Cross Country Award.

In addition to cross country, Infeld participates in indoor and outdoor track. In non-cross country events, she was named an All-American in 2010 in the indoor 3,000-meter run and indoor DMR, and in 2009 in the outdoor 1,500-meter run and indoor DMR. She anchored the DMR (1,600-meter leg) in both 2009 and 2010.
