WASHINGTON - In just the first week that the league offices are issuing weekly awards, Georgetown track & field garners a track athlete of the week in Mike Krisch. A successful performance at the Stanford Invitational earns Krisch his first weekly honor from the BIG EAST Conference.
"I'm really pleased with his race out at Stanford," Director of Track & Field / Cross Country Patrick Henner said. "I think he's poised to have a great outdoor season."
Krisch's performance in the 10,000-meter run, 28:59.94, earned him 15th place at the meet and is the 12th-best time among NCAA competitors thus far this outdoor season. The time is the fastest among all BIG EAST runners.
The Hoyas will compete at the Colonial Relays on April 2-3 in Williamsburg, Va., hosted by the College of William & Mary.
