Oct. 12, 2015 WASHINGTON - Three members of the No. 12/7 Georgetown University men's soccer team (7-2-2, 3-0-0 BIG EAST) earned weekly honors on Monday as they helped the squad to a 1-0 week in BIG EAST Conference play. Senior forward Brandon Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./St. Joseph), senior defender Cole Seiler (Anderson, S.C./Christ Church Episcopal School) and freshman goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski (Alamo, Calif./De La Salle) were all honored by the conference.
Allen scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over No. 21/19 Butler. It marked his 100th-career point on the Hilltop, moving him to third all-time on the program's career points list.
This is Allen's first nod to the honor roll of the season and the fourth of his career He was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week this season on Sept. 14.
Seiler scored the security goal in the 55th minute in the victory over Butler. The goal was his first of the season. Seiler also helped a back line that led Hoyas to their third-straight shutout, all in BIG EAST play.
This is his first honor of the season and the third of his career after earning two-consecutive nods to the honor roll as a freshman.
Marcinkowski rounded it out with four saves and his third-consecutive shutout with the Butler win.
This is the first honor roll award of his career. Marcinkowski has earned two BIG EAST Freshman of the Week awards and one BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season.
The Blue & Gray has already had two honor roll awards this season totaling five for the year.
Georgetown will be back in action on Wednesday as the squad hosts the Marquette University Golden Eagles at Shaw Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m., at Shaw Field. Live stats will be available through www.GUHoyas.com.
