WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's soccer junior goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski (Alamo, Calif./De La Salle) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league office announced Monday afternoon. As the announcement came out the Hoyas were finishing up a 3-0 victory over No. 19 Coastal Carolina.
Marcinkowski notched his first shutout of the 2017 campaign as the Hoyas downed American University, 2-0, in the season opener on Friday. Marcinkowski had three saves in the victory.
Earlier this fall, Marcinkowski was named the BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year. Last season, Marcinkowski helped the Hoyas to four shutouts, tallying 63 saves and a 1.23 GAA. As a freshman, Marcinkowski had a breakout rookie year for the Hoyas earning United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Great Lakes Region, First Team All-BIG EAST, as well as BIG EAST Freshman of the Year honors.
This is his second career nod to the weekly honor roll and the first of the season for the Hoyas (2-0).
