Hoyas Host Fordham to Open Patriot League Play

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team opens Patriot League play this weekend as the Hoyas return home to Cooper Field with a Homecoming tilt against Fordham. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
 
HOW TO FOLLOW
  • Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Patriot League Network (PLN) and will be simultaneously broadcasted on DCW50 in the Washington, D.C. area. DCW50 can be found on the following channels: Comcast 803, Verizon Fios 503, Cox 1003, RCN 616.
  • Jeremy Huber will be calling the play-by-play with GU alum Jo'el Kimpela (B'16) providing analysis. Kelsey Nicole Nelson will be reporting from the sidelines.

  • The Hoyas enter Saturday's contest with a 4-1 overall record and a four-game winning streak.

  • Tomas had team highs of six catches for 65 yards, accounting for 118 all-purpose yards overall.
  • Fonteneaux led the defense with a career-high 11 tackles and 1.5 TFL, earning Patriot League Honorable Mention recognition.
  • Honore had his second interception in as many weeks.
 
SCOUTING FORDHAM
  • Fordham enters Saturday's contest with a 2-4 overall record and is averaging 23.0 ppg on the season, which is second in the Patriot League behind the Hoyas (34.0 ppg), but the defense is allowing 34.3 ppg.
  • Tim DeMorat leads the Fordham offense, passing for 1,227 yards and 11 touchdowns through six games.
  • Zach Davis has rushed for 538 yards and two scores, averaging nearly 90 ypg.
  • Fotis Kokosioulis is the Rams' top receiver with 404 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
  • Ryan Greenhagen leads the defense and the Patriot League with 67 total tackles.
 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Georgetown and Fordham are meeting for the 64th time on Saturday in a storied history that dates back to 1890.
  • The Hoyas won last year's matchup in the Bronx, 23-11, to snap a six-game losing streak against the Rams.
  • In last year's game, Johnson finished 19-of-28 passing for 203 yards and a touchdown.
  • Moultrie led the ground game with 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
