Georgetown Continues Strong Start with Sweep at Davidson

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team swept its third-consecutive dual meet on Saturday as the Hoyas won at Davidson. The GU men came away with a 166-132 victory, while the Hoya women overcame a deficit in the final few races to win 149-145.
 
GEORGETOWN MEN
  • The Hoyas won nine events on the day, highlighted by three individual victories by Drew Carbone who won the 100- and 200-yard backstroke as well as the 200-yard IM.
  • Connor Morikawa also won multiple events, claiming both breaststroke events while Carlson Temple twice finished second.
  • Brett Sherman touched the wall first in the 200- and 500-yard freestyles.
  • Michael Wheeler cruised to a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle, winning by nearly 20 seconds.

COMING UP NEXT
The Hoyas will travel to BIG EAST rival Villanova for a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 2. Swimming is set to begin at noon.
