WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University field hockey team moved to 5-6 on the season and 1-2 in BIG EAST play with a 3-0 loss to Old Dominion (6-3, 2-1 BIG EAST) on Friday. GU forwards Machaela Bruno and Ellie Maransky each had a chance at goal late, but were unable to mount a comeback.

ODU's Rebecca Birch scored on a pass from Alexandria Brewer for her fifth goal of the season.

Birch scored her second goal of the day with just under eight minutes remaining in the second quarter. Marlee Mcclendon was credited with the assist.

Erin Huffman put the Monarchs up 3-0 after scoring her fourth goal of the season in the fourth quarter.

GU goalkeeper Ciara Weets had 10 saves to add to her BIG EAST saves lead.
