Tomas Romero was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday as announced by the league. Additionally, sophomore midfielder
Sean Zawadzki earned a spot on the weekly honor roll. The No. 3 Hoyas are currently 14-1-1 overall and 7-0-1 in league play after securing at least a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season Title. The Blue & Gray is also No. 1 in the RPI heading into the final game of the regular season.
Tomas Romero
- Romero saved four Villanova shots as he preserved another shutout win for the Hoyas, 2-0, on Saturday.
- The freshman has five shutouts on the year and a 7-0-0 record with 19 saves.
- This is the first weekly honor of his career and the second goalkeeper of the week award for the Blue & Gray this season.
Sean Zawadzki
- Zawadzki helped limit Villanova to just eight shots, including four on goal, to help Georgetown pick up the win.
- He has been a force in the midfield all season starting all 14 games he has appeared.
- This is his first award of the season and the first of his career. GU has had five players named to the honor roll in 2019.
The Hoyas will be back in action on Wednesday in the regular season finale when the squad hosts Creighton University at Shaw Field. The game is slated to begin at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with alums Dan Helfrich and Tom Greaser calling the action.
