Georgetown SAAC Announces 2019 Executive Board

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced its executive board for the 2019-20 school year. The board features four student-athletes who will serve as the voices of the student-athlete community. 

"This group have been working together since May to enhance the student-athlete experience for their peers," said Georgetown Executive Director of the Cooper Athletics Leadership Program Dr. Maya Ozery. "They have put together a schedule of activities and initiatives for the upcoming year and developed ways to better articulate their goals and vision for the committee. I am excited to see what they can do for the Georgetown student-athletes in the 2019-20 academic year."

Senior volleyball player Margo Snipe (Washington, D.C. / Ridgewood) will serve as the 2019-20 SAAC president. She appeared in 26 matches during her junior year and tallied a career-high seven kills. Snipe earned BIG EAST All-Academic honors during each of her first three years on the Hilltop.  

Junior women's lacrosse player Mary Pagano (Short Hills, N.J. / Pingry School) and junior football offensive lineman Glen Waters (Dallas, Texas / Cedar Hill) will share the honor of serving as the two vice presidents. As a sophomore, Pagano scored her 10th goal of the season in a double overtime win over Denver University as the Hoyas secured the BIG EAST Championship. She was a BIG EAST All-Academic honoree during the 2018-19 season. Waters is an integral part of the football programand serves as a member of the team's leadership council. Outside of football, he is a leader for Chi Alpha Campus Ministry, a Social Responsibility Network member, and a member of the Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)planning committee. 

Junior women's basketball forward Sari Cureton (Farmington, Mich. / Walled Lake Western) will serve as SAAC's BIG EAST representative after representing the team last year. This summer she attended the BIG EAST annual Student-Athlete Well Being Forum at Providence College. Cureton earned BIG EAST All-Academic honors during her first two seasons as a Hoya. 

Sophomore men's track & field athlete Tristan Forsythe(Pittsburgh, Pa. / Winchester Thurston) will serve as SAAC's other BIG EAST representative. He joined Cureton in attending the BIG EAST annual Student-Athlete Well Being Forum this summer. During his first season on the Hilltop, Forsythe finished in first place in the 3,000-meter run at the 2018 Navy Winter Invitational Track & Field Meet with a college-best time of 8.28.18. 

Georgetown's SAAC will hold numerous events throughout the school year that will help to bring the student-athlete community together.
