WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team competed at the 16th Annual Cougar Classic on Monday and Tuesday, playing 54 holes in two days. Part of a very competitive field, featuring six teams ranked in the WGCA Coaches Preseason Poll, the Hoyas placed 17th with a three-round score of 58-over par 922. The tournament was hosted by the College of Charleston and played at the par 72, 6,301-yard Yeamans Hall Club in Hanahan, South Carolina.
TOURNAMENT WINNERS
- No. 7 Vanderbilt finished at 27-under par to edge out No. 9 Wake Forest (-26) for the team win. No. 8 Florida (-24) finished third while No. 18 Arkansas (-9), Furman (-2) and UCF (-2) all finished under par.
- Vanderbilt's Auston Kim set a new tournament record with a 16-under par over 54 holes to win the individual title.
GEORGETOWN LINEUP
- Freshman Lauren May led the Hoyas in her collegiate debut with an 11-over par 227, tying for 73rd overall. She fired a 1-under par 71 in her first round on Monday.
- Freshman Dana Choi tied for 77th with a 13-over par 229.
- Freshman Esther Park carded a 19-over par 235.
- Sophomore Baili Park turned in a 21-over par 237.
- Senior Ashley Fitzgibbons finished with a 22-over par 238.
