WASHINGTON – Following the first day of play at the 2019 Nittany Lion Invitational, the Georgetown University women's golf team sits in 10th place, carding a 36-hole score of 44-over par 620. The Hoyas were fifth after at 14-over par after the first round, but struggled over the second 18 holes. The tournament is being played at the par 72, 6,322-yard Penn State Blue Course.
HOYAS LINEUP
- Freshman Lauren May turned in a career-best 2-under par 70 in the first round and is currently tied for 24th place at 8-over par 152.
- Junior Elizabeth Nguyen recorded two birdies on her final four holes and sits at 13-over par 157.
- Senior Ashley Fitzgibbons is one stroke behind Nguyen at 158 while classmate Kate Evanko is at 159
- Freshman Dana Choi carded a two-round scored of 161.
- Freshman Esther Park is playing as an individual and turned in rounds of 78 and 75, carding five birdies on the day, to tie with May at 8-over par 152.
- Sophomore Baili Park is also playing as an individual and recorded a 162.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
- The University of Pennsylvania leads the 12-team field with a 4-over par 580. Seton Hall (583) and the host Nittany Lions (587) round out the top three.
- Georgetown is just two strokes behind Towson (618), three behind Bucknell (617) ad six behind Akron (614).
