WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University field hockey team improved to 5-3 on the season after a 2-1 win at Cooper Field against La Salle (3-4). Senior Michaela Bruno led the way, scoring her second goal in as many games to give the Hoyas their first 2-0 weekend of the season. Georgetown held the Explorers scoreless after two quarters, holding on to a two-goal lead in the third quarter before a late goal from La Salle.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Bruno looked to score early on a fastbreak, but her shot was just saved by La Salle's Chloe South.

Senior Emily Fraser attempted a long shot off Ali Cronin's penalty corner from the top of the box that South was able stop.

Midway through the second quarter Bruno scored after stealing the ball away from a La Salle defender.

Sophomore midfielder Halle Gill scored her first goal of the season from the middle of the box surrounded by La Salle defenders.

Down 2-0, the Explorers scored on a Casey Reilly shot off a penalty corner from Chloe Lucky.
