WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team plays its first home game of the 2019 season when it hosts Marist for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff on Saturday. The contest is the Patriot League Game of the Week and will be broadcast on Stadium's

WHAT'S AT STAKE
- The Hoyas are 6-3 in home openers since 2010 and have won 3-of-5 under Head Coach Rob Sgarlata.
- GU is 5-3 against members of the Pioneer Football League over the past five seasons.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Hoyas overcame a 20-point deficit at halftime, but Davidson scored a late touchdown in the fourth quarter to defeat the Hoyas 27-20 last Saturday in the season opener.
- Gunther Johnson finished 11-of-19 passing for 134 yards and two touchdowns, Herman Moultrie III rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown and Michael Dereus caught two touchdown passes.
- The Hoyas ran just nine plays in the first half, totaling 74 yards while Davidson scored on all three of its possessions in the first half to take a 20-0 lead, putting together drives of 87, 91 and 99 yards.
- The defense forced turnovers on three-straight possessions in the third quarter as GU came back to tie the game 20-20.
- Brad Hurst booted a modern day program record 76-yard punt in the second quarter that was downed at the 1-yard line.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
- Georgetown and Marist are meeting for the 22nd time, with the Hoyas holding a 16-5 advantage in the series, including a 9-2 mark on the Hilltop.
- The two teams met in last year's season opener with the Hoyas cruising to a 39-14 victory in Poughkeepsie, New York.
- Johnson finished 26-37, passing for 369 yards and four touchdowns, completing passes to 10 different receivers.
- Dereus, Max Edwards and Joshua Tomas all had receiving touchdowns.
SATURDAY'S PROMOTIONS
- The first 100 kids to Saturday's game will receive a free Georgetown Athletics lunch box, which will be available at the marketing tent outside the main gate.
- There will be an autograph session following the game on the field. Posters will be available throughout the first half at the marketing tent.
