WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team opens the 2019-20 season on Monday when they travel to Hanahan, South Carolina to compete in the 16th Annual Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played at the par 72, 6,301-yard Yeamans Hall Club. A link for live scoring will be available at GUHoyas.com.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
- The Hoyas will be a part of a tough 17-team field that includes six teams ranked in the WGCA Coaches Preseason Poll.
- No. 18 Arkansas, No. 13 Auburn, Boston College, Campbell, Charleston Southern (individual only), College of Charleston, No. 8 Florida, No. 5 Florida State, Furman, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Tennessee, UCF, No. 7 Vanderbilt and No. 9 Wake Forest.
- Teams will tee off at 8:45 a.m. on Monday and play two continuous rounds. Tuesday's final round will begin at 9 a.m.
- The Cougar Classic was originally supposed to be a three-day tournament starting on Sunday. However, the start of the tournament was pushed back due to Hurricane Dorian.
- Last season, Georgetown finished 18th at the Cougar Classic, which was shortened to 36 holes because of weather.
- Fitzgibbons was the only Hoya to participate last fall, carding an 11-over par 155.
