WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's and women's swimming & diving programs were both selected as Scholar All-America teams for the fall semester, when the honors were awarded by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Wednesday.

To be eligible for Scholar All-America recognition, a team must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), as defined by the institution, for the spring semester. The team GPA includes all eligible varsity student-athletes. A total of 762 teams, representing 17,685 student-athletes and 480 institutions were honored across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions.

The men's team recorded a spring GPA of 3.52 to rank fifth among 109 Division I men's programs that achieved at least a 3.0 GPA. The Hoyas finished with the highest mark in the BIG EAST Conference.

The GU women turned in a 3.47 GPA over the spring semester to place among the top 50 percent of 182 Division I women's programs. The Blue & Gray ranked fourth among BIG EAST programs.

The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-Americans following the spring semester.
