WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball season opener at the University of Richmond scheduled for Sunday has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test within the Hoya women's basketball team. This decision was made on Friday following consultation with the University's Public Health Office and the Department's medical staff.

The individual testing positive was a tier 1 member of the team.  As a result of contact tracing, all team personnel will quarantine following University, DC Department of Health and CDC guidelines.

The status of future games will be announced at a later date.
