WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team will travel to East Meadow, New York this week for the 2020 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships, presented by Jeep. The four-day meet begins on Wednesday, Feb. 26 and runs through Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Nassau Aquatic Center.
MEET INFORMATION
- The meet begins on Wednesday with diving preliminaries at 4 p.m. followed by the finals and two relay events at 6 p.m.
- Prelims will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the evening finals starting at 6 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Heading into the BIG EAST Championships, the Hoyas currently own 11 top times in the conference including all five relays on the men's side.
- The GU men and women have combined to win 10 meets this season.
- Georgetown won 12 BIG EAST Weekly Awards this season, sweeping the honors on four different occasions.
- The Hoyas will also have eight divers competing this week, which is tops in the conference.
LAST YEAR'S CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The GU men finished second at the 2019 BIG EAST Championships, while the women placed third.
- The Hoyas won six gold medals overall and set 15 program records.
- Georgetown had a league-high 24 student-athletes earn All-BIG EAST honors with 13 women receiving all-conference recognition in 17 events, while the men's squad saw 11 student-athletes earn accolades in 32 events.
- Drew Carbone was named the Male Most Outstanding Swimmer for the second-consecutive year after winning four gold medals and earning All-BIG EAST honors in seven different events.
- Head Coach Jack Leavitt and the Georgetown coaching staff were named the BIG EAST Men's Coaching Staff of the Year and Head Diving Coach Marc Van Dyken earned BIG EAST Women's Diving Coach of the Year honors.
