WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving team swept the BIG EAST weekly awards for the fourth time this season as junior
Drew Carbone was named the Male Athlete of the Week and freshman
Alexandra Robertson earned Female Athlete of the Week honors. The awards recognize their performances in Georgetown's tri-meet sweep over BIG EAST opponents Seton Hall and Providence this weekend. The Hoyas have now earned 12 weekly awards this season.
DREW CARBONE
- Recorded six overall wins with three individual victories and three relay wins.
- Led a Hoya sweep in the 200-yard IM in a time of 1:52.22.
- Swept the backstroke races with wins in the 100 (49.86) and 200 (1:49.41).
- Swam the opening leg of the 400- (49.36) and 200-yard (23.20) medley relays.
- Closed out the meet by swimming the anchor leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay, overcoming a deficit in the final 100 yards to win by .13 seconds.
- This is Carbone's fourth weekly award this season.
ALEXANDRA ROBERTSON
- Finished with three individual victories and two relay wins.
- Swept the individual medley races with wins in the 200-yard IM (2:06.94) and 400-yard IM (4:29.27).
- Won the 100-yard freestyle in 53.52 seconds, just edging out her own teammate.
- Was also a part of two relay-winning squads as she swam the anchor leg of GU's 400-yard medley relay team in 52.36 seconds to pull away for the victory
- Swam the third leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay which Georgetown won by three seconds.

The Hoyas will next prepare for the 2020 BIG EAST Championships which will be held Feb. 26-29 at the Nassau Aquatic Center in East Meadow, New York. The meet will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).
