Women’s Golf Finishes 13th at UNF Collegiate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the spring season, finishing with an 81-over par 945 to place 13th at the UNF Collegiate, hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was played at the par-72 Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
 
HOYAS LINEUP
  • Sophomore Baili Park led the Hoyas with an 18-over par 234, tying for 40th overall. .
  • Senior Ashley Fitzgibbons was two strokes back with a 20-over par 236, good for a 48th-place finish.
  • Freshman Lauren May tied for 55th place with a 238.
  • Senior Kate Evanko and freshman Esther Park both carded scores of 244 to tie for 68th.  
  • Freshman Elena Zheng, playing as an individual, turned in a 238 to tie with May for 55th place.
 
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
  • North Florida won its home tournament with a 24-over par 888.
  • Seton Hall (892), Sam Houston State (896), South Alabama (910) and Western Kentucky (913) rounded out the top five.  
  • Georgetown edged out Eastern Kentucky (946), as well as finishing ahead of Cincinnati (951) and Murray State (959).
 
COMING UP NEXT
The Hoyas will next travel to Charleston, South Carolina for the Briar's Creek Invitational. The two-day tournament will be played March 16-17.
