WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team will open up the spring season on Monday, traveling to Jacksonville, Florida for the UNF Collegiate.
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
- The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the par-72, 5,926-yard Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.

- The Hoyas will be a part of a 16-team field that includes Cal State Fullerton, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Murray State, North Florida, Sam Houston, Seton Hall, Troy, South Alabama and Western Kentucky.
- Teams will tee off at 8:30 a.m. in a shotgun start on Monday, playing 36 continuous holes. Tuesday's final round will begin at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start.
HOYAS LINEUP
- Head Coach Kate Schanuel will send out a lineup that features two seniors, a sophomore and two freshmen.
- Senior Ashley Fitzgibbons played all 14 rounds in the fall and had a 76.93 stroke average.
- Freshman Lauren May led the squad with a 75.86 stroke average, including two rounds under par.
- Senior Kate Evanko and freshman Esther Park both averaged 78.00 during the fall.
- Sophomore Baili Park played in three tournaments and averaged 80.00 strokes per round.
- Additionally, freshman Elena Zheng will play as an individual. She averaged 79.83 in two tournaments in the fall.
FALL SEASON
- The Hoyas are coming off their best finish of the year in the final fall tournament as they placed third at the Blue Hen Invitational.
- Fitzgibbons tied for sixth overall with a 6-over par 222.
- Georgetown also had a top-10 finish at the Princeton Invitational in September.
COMING UP NEXT
Following this week's action in Jacksonville, the Hoyas will travel to Charleston, South Carolina for the Briar's Creek Invitational. The two-day tournament will be played March 16-17.
